Greetings
In 2022, I founded NERON Inc. with the goal of realizing mental well-being based on gut microbiome research. I began my career in 2013 at Nissin Foods Holdings Co., Ltd., where I spent nearly a decade conducting research in the Health Science Laboratory and the Food Development Department. During that time, I advanced studies on the functional analysis of gut microbiome and the health benefits of food.
From 2014 to 2018, I also served as a visiting researcher at Yokohama City University and the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, engaging in cutting-edge research on the molecular biology of gut bacteria and lactic acid bacteria, as well as integrative omics analysis.
Currently, as CEO of NERON, I am leading the development of our proprietary gut microbiome cocktail technology.

Biograpy
I have been conducting research on the functional properties of the gut microbiota for approximately 12 years.
Since 2013, I have been engaged in research on drug delivery systems (DDS), a technology for delivering agents to targeted areas within the body. Throughout my career at various institutions and companies, I have continued research on lactic acid bacteria, stress reduction, and cognitive function maintenance.
With the founding of NERON Inc. in 2022, I began full-scale research and development of “gut microbiome cocktails.” These cocktails represent the culmination of over 12 years of research, and I remain committed to advancing R&D to help realize a “new era of health.”

After completing his graduate studies at Nagoya University in the Department of Bio-Agricultural Sciences, Gaku Nagao joined Nissin Foods, where he led the development and branding of functional foods, contributing to major product successes. He later joined Kasugai Confectionery as a category manager, spearheading new market development and significantly driving corporate growth. At NTT DOCOMO, he built DX business solutions in the entertainment sector, establishing a sustainable revenue model. Currently, as a Board Director at NERON, he oversees strategic marketing and sales, leading the growth of the gut microbiota cocktail business.

Yuichi Ukawa
After completing graduate studies in agricultural science, he began his career at a major paper company, where he was responsible for functional evaluation of edible mushrooms and academic sales. He then moved to a major beverage company, where he developed and evaluated tea-based drinks, Foods for Specified Health Uses (FOSHU), and lactic acid bacteria beverages.
At Nissin Foods, he worked on research planning and business strategy, and currently, at a major chemical company, he leads strategic planning and collaborative research for functional ingredients. He also operates a side business as a certified Professional Engineer, providing consulting services for functional food development.
With expertise in marketing strategy and industry engagement, he contributes to both domestic and international market development. His multifaceted experience accelerates value creation and helps solve customer challenges.
